Cooley, Sr., age 95, of 311 Simpson Road, Anderson, passed away on Sunday, December 30, 2012, at the Emeritus at Countryside Health Care Center, Easley. Born in Anderson County, he was the son of the late Will C. Cooley and the late Mamie S. Cooley. For 62 years, he was the devoted and loving husband of Mamie Bratcher Cooley of Myrtle Beach. Mr. Cooley was a very successful businessman who owned a poultry operation in Anderson County for many years. He was an active and devoted member of Boulevard Baptist Church . In addition to his wife, Mr. Cooley is survived by 3 sons: Danny R. Cooley of Myrtle Beach; Fred H. Cooley, Jr. and his wife Linda, of Greenwood; and O. Clarke Cooley and his wife Larinda, of Anderson; a sister, Sedalia Arflin and her husband Clarence, of Greenville; 3 grandchildren, Chris Cooley, Jill Cooley-Spears, Kelly Cooley-Gaston; and a special niece, Miranda Garland. In addition to his parents, Mr. Cooley was preceded in death by 9 brothers and sisters. A service to celebrate and honor the life of Mr. Fred H. Cooley, Sr., will be held at the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 1, 2013, at 11 AM, with Rev. Elwood Orr officiating. Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
