Fred Junior Rose, age 96, entered into Eternal Life peacefully on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at the Rainey Hospice House.

Born in Kenwood, OH on March 28, 1928, Fred was the son of the late Frederick Ferdinand and Agnes McInnis Rose Walsh. He is preceded in death by his siblings, Agnes, Ursina, Archibald, Jean (twin), Edgar, Samuel, Saundra, and his first wife, Lorraine T. Knutson Rose.

He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Carol Margaret Ziegler Todd Rose and his sisters Pricilla and Kathleen as well as his children Laureen Ann, Fred, Lornalin, Joseph and John Rose, Robert Todd, James Todd and Linda Todd Crull, 13 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren.

He worked in strip mining and on the railroad throughout his teen years and proudly served his country in the United States Navy as a helmsman for two years and again during the Korean War. He later became an accountant for several companies in the steel industry as comptroller and later as a general manager before starting his own steel fabrication company, Fabmetco, over 48 years ago. Fred enjoyed working hard, playing golf, writing poetry about faith, family and friends, and he loved watching sports. He has left a legacy of integrity, wisdom, joy, and laughter.

The family will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home, 2211 North Main Street, Anderson, SC on October 23, 2024, from 4:00-6:00pm. The Funeral Mass will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1200 Cornelia Road, Anderson, SC on October 24, 2024, at 10:30 am with Father Philip S. Gillespie officiating. The burial with military honors will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
