John Frederick Taub, Sr., 99, of Anderson, SC, passed away Wednesday, October 7, 2020 at his home. Born May 15, 1921 in Lorain, OH, he was the son of the late John and Kathrine Antal Taub. Fred was a veteran of the United States Army and Air Force Reserves. He was an engineer for NASA a total of 38 years and served during Project Mercury which introduced the world to the original seven astronauts. He is survived by his wife, Gladys Evatt Taub; daughter, Diane Small (Lew);son, John Taub, Jr.; step-children, Bill Evatt (Beth), Linda Oakley and Donna Taylor (Sammy); and brother, Capt. Donald M. Taub, Ret. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister. The family will have a private committal service at M.J. Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery.
