James Freddy Wilson, age 82, of Anderson, SC, passed away Thursday, May 4, 2023, at AnMed Health Medical Center. Born March 7, 1941, in the Long Branch Community of Anderson County, SC, he was a son of the late George Wilson and Louise Mitchell Wilson. He was married for 51 years to Virginia M. "Polly" Wilson until her death in 2018. He was also preceded in death by his son, Tony Loner; 5 brothers, Howard, Hoyt, Donald, Tommy, and Doug; and 3 sisters, Bobbie, Sue, and Linda. Fred was the owner and operator of Fred's Used Cars for over 50 years until he retired. He enjoyed collecting antiques, making people laugh, and spending time with his brother and best friend, Ralph. One of his favorite quotes was "It's a jungle baby!" He was a faithful Christian and member of Gethsemane Baptist Temple where he served on the Board of Trustees, sang in the choir and enjoyed singing specials. He is survived by his daughters, Tina Walters (David), Tammy Fulmer, and Fredda Jordan; brothers, Ralph Wilson and Junior Wilson; sister, Judy Lamb; grandchildren, Whitney Pitts (Ronnie), Evan Loner (Sarah), Hunter Fulmer (Leigh), Wil Walters (Hunter); and Molly Walters; great grandchildren, Huxson Walters and Mary Elizabeth Virginia Fulmer; and two step great grandchildren. The family will receive friends Sunday, May 7, 2023, from 4:00-6:00 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. A celebration of a life that has been well lived will be held Monday, May 8, 2023, at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with Rev. Sam Duncan and Rev. David Walters officiating. Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Veterans Mausoleum. His nieces and nephews will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family will be at the home of Tina and David Walters.
