Frederick Paul Ciechowski, 80, husband of the late Carol (Yuhas Hurley) Ciechowski, of Anderson, SC passed away suddenly on Friday, June 2, 2017 at a local hospital. Born on October 1, 1936 in Rockville CT, son of the late Edward and Louise (LaChapelle) Ciechowski. Fred graduated from Howell Cheney Technical High School in 1955 joining the U.S. Navy soon after serving aboard the U.S.S. Canberra as a Communications Officer. After his service he was employed by Raymond Engineering working on the Mariner 4 Space Project. He coached Little League Football and started in town politics being elected Warden of Colchester CT from 1977 - 1979. In 1992 he was employed by Sikorsky Aircraft and transferred in 1997 to Lockheed Martin in Greenville, SC where he worked until his retirement in 2012. Besides his wife and parents, Fred was preceded in death by his sister Elizabeth (Betty) Houghton, brother, Gregory Ciechowski and nephew, Michael Ciechowski. Fred is survived by his brother, James and Dottie Ciechowski of Connecticut, his children, Chris and Fiance' Denise Jolie of Massachusetts, Kimberlee Cieski and wife Connie Derosier of Connecticut, Mark and Kerstin Ciechowski of Florida, grandsons Shane, Zackary, and Jacob Ciechowski of Connecticut, a niece and several nephews, four step-children, five step-grandchildren and many friends. The life of Fred will be celebrated and remembered on July 8th at 5pm at The Bench, 100 Electric City Boulevard, Anderson, SC 29621.
