Furman Rufus Haley, age 84, passed away on Sunday, May 21, 2017, at Richard Campbell Veterans Nursing Home. Born in Westminster, SC on August 29, 1932, he was the son of the late "J.J." and the late Wiley Vena Standridge Haley. Furman proudly served his country in the United States Army and worked at Owens Corning Fiberglass. He was a member of Varennes Heights Baptist Church. He is survived by his sisters, Bernice Powell, Vadrew Smith, and Venice Wood. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Thrace Smith Haley; and two brothers, Harold and Herman Haley. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Interment will take place at New Silver Brook Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Richard Campbell Veterans Nursing Home, 4605 Belton Hwy, Anderson, SC 29621.
