(Eddie) Stone Jr., 57, husband of Vickie Stone, of 1033 Tillotson Road, Anderson, died September 13, 2007 at home, after a courageous battle with MS and Leukemia. He approached his illnesses with incredible strength, and amazing faith. He truly touched many lives and was an inspiration to all he met. He always had a warm smile, and kind heart. Born in Abbeville County, August 30, 1950, he was the only son of Furman Stone and the late Margaret Bollinger Stone. A caring husband, father, grandfather, and son, he was married to his wife, Vickie Bannister Stone, for the past 36 years. He is survived by his father; sons, Jeremy Edgar Stone and his wife, Elizabeth Heller Stone, and Brandon Patrick Stone; Grandson, Patrick Marshall Stone; father and mother- in-law, Lamar and Betty Bannister; brother-in-law, Randy Bannister and his wife, Caroline Bowen Bannister; and niece, Hannah Caroline Bannister. He truly loved his family. His happiest times were with his sons, Jeremy and Brandon, building deer stands, and taking them hunting and fishing. He truly loved the outdoors. His grandson Patrick brought laughter and fun to his life. Patrick loved to 'play rough' with his Pa.An excellent athlete, he was BHP Athlete of the year in 1968. He also was selected to play on the SC Shrine Bowl team and the North- South Football teams for 1968. He attended Newberry College. He was an avid Citadel fan, and loved visiting Charleston with family and close friends.He was an Outside plant technician, with BellSouth, retiring after 30 years service. He was a retired Master Sergeant with the 84th APS of the Air Force Reserve, Greenville, SC. He was also an Eagle Scout, Past CubMaster of CubScout Pack 8, Honea Path, and past Eagle Board Member.Special thanks to neighbors, Harold and Sybil Jefferson, and special caretaker and friend, Patricia Clayburn, for their support during his illness. The family would like to thank Dr. Zafar Hossain, Dr. Paul Frassinelli , Dr. Jimmy Smith, Dr. W.A. Carr, Dr. Ken Heller, and the nurses of the AnMed ICU, 5 South and Hospice for their kind and compassionate care during his long hospital stay.The Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, September 16, 2007 at 4:00 pm in the Sanctuary of Bethany Baptist Church with the Reverend Carroll Plemmons, the Reverend PAGE TWODr. Marshall Fagg and the Reverend Dr. Bill Lowe officiating. The committal will follow at the Garden of Memories. Pallbearers will be Sam Atkins, Tim Campbell, Ronald Coleman, Richard Ellison, Joe Hilliard and Bill Pruitt The family will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Saturday, September 15, 2007 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.The family will be at the residence.Memorials may be made to Hunt of a Lifetime c/o Coach Harold Jones, 220 Arnold Drive, Anderson, SC 29621 or Boy Scouts of America Troup# 5, P.O.
