Gail was born on January 24, 1944 in Windber, PA, the daughter of John Boxen and Ethel "Toby" Boxen. She was preceded in death by her parents, Grandmother Doris "Gram" Burchill, husband Larry E. Pierce, and beloved daughter Kimberly Lynn Pierce. Gail is survived by her son, Larry Pierce, of Morris Plains, NJ; brother, John "Greg" Boxen, Somerset, PA, and nieces Laura Boxen, Windber, PA, and Jennifer Boxen, Staten Island, NY. Gail was a 1961 graduate of Windber Area High School. After graduating from Carnegie College, Cleveland, OH, she was employed at Lee Hospital in Johnstown, PA. She retired from Warren Hospital in Phillipsburg, NJ. Gail raised her children in Flanders, NJ. She also lived in East Stroudsburg, PA, before relocating to South Carolina in 2008. Gail will be forever remembered for her love of people and her passionate love for animals. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends. At Gail's request all arrangements will be private. In lieu of flowers, those who wish to honor Gail's memory and her love for animals are asked to make donations in her name to their local animal shelter or rescue organization.
