He was a United States Army World War II Veteran and retired from Owens Corning Fiberglas. He coached Little League T-Ball, Baseball and Soccer and was of the Baptist Faith.Survivors include his wife of the home; sons, John Evans and his wife, Susie, and Patrick Evans all of Anderson; daughters, Andrea Bridges and her husband, Tommy of Anderson, Joy Stone and her husband, Wesley of Townville and Pamela Wilson of Anderson; brother, Glenn Evans; sisters, Joyce West and Mary Smith, all of Anderson; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and long-time friend, Dr. Henry Martin.In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Marion Harris Evans and good friend, Tom Holcombe.The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2009 at 3:00 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home officiated by the Reverend Kyle Caudell and Reverend Alan Rhodes.
