Gary E. Barnhart November 3, 1938 - June 7, 2012 ANDERSON, SC Gary E. Barnart, age 73, of 226 Rowland Road, husband of Roberta Detar Barnhart passed away on Thursday, June 7, 2012 at Greenville Memorial Hospital. Born in Butler County, PA, he was the son of the late Richard G. Barnhart and the late Catherine Dunn Barnhart. He proudly served his country in the US Air Force for 6 years. He was an electrical contractor and owner of Barnhart Electric for over 31 years. He was a member of the Vintage Driver Club of America, the Historic Sportscar Racing and of the NRA. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Dawn I. Barnhart of Denver, CO, Laura D. Barnhart and her husband Tim Turner of Charlotte, NC, and Stacy L. Barnhart Mercado and her husband Edward Mercado of San Antonio, TX; a brother, Harold Barnhart of Butler, PA; a sister, Deanna C. Cawthorne, of Butler, PA; a brother-in-law, Donald Detar of Anderson, SC; and a grand-daughter, Lauren Mercado. The Funeral service to celebrate the life of Mr. Barnhart will be held on Monday, June 11, 2012 at 1:00 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with Reverend Tony Smith officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 10, 2012 at the funeral home from 6:00pm until 8:00pm.
