Gary Ray Dunn Anderson, SC Gary Ray Dunn, 66, of 14 Camrose Drive, Greer, SC passed away Monday, April 7, 2014 at Alpha Health & Rehabilitation Center in Greer, SC. Gary was born on October 25, 1947 in Anderson, SC to the late Thomas L. and Margaret Bowen Dunn. Gary was a homebuilder and served his country proudly in the Vietnam War as a Marine Corp Veteran in 1968 and 1969. Gary served as a Force Recon Marine and received medals to include: National Defense Service Medal, Vietnamese Service Medal, Vietnamese Campaign Medal, Navy Unit Citation, and Good Conduct Medal. He was a member of Taylor Memorial Pentecostal Holiness Church in Anderson, SC. Surviving are his wife: Betty F. Dunn of Greer, SC; his two children: Shannon Dunn Cole and husband Thomas of Greer, SC and Marcus Dunn and wife Kerri of Travelers Rest, SC; a sister: Kathy Dunn of Anderson, SC; 6 grandchildren: Hunter Cole, Riley Dunn, Chase Cole, Carleigh Cole, Reese Dunn, and Dylan Ray Cole and several special nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents Gary was preceded in death by his Mother-in-Law; Mary Baldwin. A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, April 10, 2014 at 11:00am at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Anderson, SC with the Chaplain Dave Banks, Speaker Bob Faircloth, and Speaker Julie Rokola officiating. Following the Graveside Service, the Dunn family will return to The McDougald Family Center, 2211 North Main Street, Anderson, SC for a Gathering of Remembrance. At other times the Dunn family will be at the residence of Shannon Dunn Cole: 102 Burl Hollow Lane, Greer, SC 29651.
