GARY PATTERSONFebruary 9, 1947-June 22, 2009ASHEVILLE, NC- Gary Harold Patterson, 62, of 30 Allen Avenue, Apt. 301, died Monday, June 22, 2009 at his residence.Born in Anderson, SC on February 9, 1947, he was a son of the late Harold Patterson and Etrulia Buchanan Covar. Gary was raised in the home of Roy and Lavenia Cargill. He was a 1964 graduate of T. L. Hanna High School. He attended Clemson University, where he was a member of the Kappa Sigma Nu Fraternity. He was a 1969 graduate of The Baptist College of Charleston, where he was a member of the baseball team. He was employed by the Shertec Industries of Asheville, NC, as a pharmaceutical representative for 14 years. He was a veteran of the United States Navy Reserves. Gary was a member of Eureka Baptist Church.He is survived by his daughter, McClain Lawson of Greenville, SC; son, Travis Patterson of Greenville, SC; sister, Revonda Durham of Edgefield, SC; brother, Mike Gambrell of Anderson, SC; and his grandson, Nicholas Harmon.A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, June 28, 2009, in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home at 2:00 pm conducted by Dr. Ron Fousek.
