Clyde Gaylan Morgan, age 67, passed away on Saturday, July 15, 2017, at his residence surrounded by his family. Born on June 23, 1950, in Oak Grove, LA, he was the son of the late Frank Baucum Morgan and the late Onie Laverne Gilley Morgan. For 46 years, he was the loving husband of Brenda Dianne Hudson Morgan. After graduating from Forest High School in Forest, LA, Gaylan continued on to work for the John Deere Corporation with over 40 years of service as a salesman, technician, and manager. In 1988 he transferred with the company to Anderson where he later retired. He was a devoted member of Centerville Baptist Church where he formally served as a deacon. He was an avid outdoorsman enjoying fishing and hunting, however most important to Gaylan was the love he had for his friends, family, and especially his grandchildren who all will miss him dearly. In addition to his wife, Brenda, Gaylan is survived by his children, Angela Martin (Stuart), Todd Morgan (Janelle), and Hugh Morgan (Kristie); sisters, Frances Shopher (Mike), Cathy Hires, and Cleona Disotell (Lonnie); nine grandchildren, Justin, Rachel, Bailey, Baylon, Beau, Brynah, Kaitlynn, Ruston, and Jaylen; and one great-grandchild, Lawson Drake. In addition to his parents, Gaylan was predeceased by a brother, Frank B. Morgan, Jr. The family will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Monday, July 17, 2017, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, July 18, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at Centerville Baptist Church with Pastor Robbie Smith and Reverend B.J. Hurst officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Flowers are optional, or memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
