Haskell Eugene Ashworth, age 72, of 315 Oba Street, Greenville, passed away on Thursday, May 14, 2015, at Heartland Healthcare West. Born on November 17, 1942, in Anderson, SC, he was the son of the late Clyde Willard Ashworth and the late Annette Ellenburg Ashworth. Mr. Ashworth retired after fifty years as a long haul truck driver. Survivors include two sons, Wesley Eugene Ashworth and his wife, Kendra, of Rock Island, IL, and Allen Jackson Ashworth of Greenville, SC. In addition to his parents, Gene was preceded in death by two brothers, Clyde Wade Ashworth and David Randall Ashworth. The family wishes to thank a special niece, Wanda Nichols, and a sister-in-law, Judy Ashworth, for their assistance and care during Gene's illness. A Graveside Service to celebrate the life of Mr. Ashworth will be held on Tuesday, May 19, 2015, at 3:30 p.m. at New Silver Brook Cemetery, with Rev. John Daniel officiating.
