Gene Roberts Anderson, SC Reverend Dr. Francis Eugene Roberts, age 84, of Anderson, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 12, 2014 at his residence. Born in Anderson on October 9, 1929, he was the son of the late Lawrence Roberts and the late Sallie Mae Hill Roberts. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. Gene was a retired minister having served Lakeview Baptist Church for many years. He is survived by his loving wife of over 60 years, Bessie Broadwell Roberts; a brother, William Bill Roberts of Anderson, SC; and a sister, Doris Roberts Pickens, of Anderson, SC In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Everette L. Roberts. The Graveside Service will be held on Friday, June 13, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Old Silver Brook Cemetery with Reverend David Blizzard officiating. The family will be at the residence.
