Marion Eugene "Gene" Stamps, 82, of Anderson, SC passed away Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at Rainey Hospice House. Born January 18, 1935, in Anderson, SC, he was a son of the late Harold Lloyd Stamps and the late Lillie Mae Evans Stamps. Gene was a master plumber and retired from Stamps Plumbing with over 30 years of service. After retirement, he enjoyed working part-time with Anderson County. He attended Lighthouse Pentecostal Holiness Church in Starr, SC. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Delree Wilson Stamps of the home; sons, Michael, Terry and Rodney Stamps and his wife, Gloria; sister, Betty Kelly; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brothers, Harold and Haskell Stamps and sister, Margie Brown. The memorial service will be at 2:00 pm Thursday, November 30, 2017 in The McDougald Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ron Lawson, Rev. Sammy Scott and Rev. Bobby Smith officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
