George Berry Harbin, age 96, went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at his residence. Born in Anderson, SC on April 15, 1920, he proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II in Europe during the Battle of the Bulge and D-Day. He owned his own business as a small engine mechanic. He is survived by his loving wife, Joann Lewis Harbin of the home; his children, Donald Wayne Hammond, of Liberty, SC, James William Hammond and his wife, Teri, of Ellijay, GA, Robin Daniels and her husband Dennis, and Lorrie Smith and her husband Keith, all of Liberty, SC; 10 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. The Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home on Friday, November 4, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Fran Moran officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
