November 1, 1918 - July 22, 2007IVA, SCMr. George 'Junior' Harris, age 88, husband of Connie Weeks Harris of 5121 Flat Rock Road, Iva, SC, died Sunday, July 22, 2007 at his residence.Born in Anderson, SC on November 1, 1918, Mr. Harris was a son of the late George V. Harris Sr., and Bessie Eunice Taylor Harris. He was a United States Army World War II veteran and retired as superintendent with Daniel Construction. He was a Hejaz Shriner, member of the Ensley Masonic Lodge #278 in Florida and a member of the American Legion Post #44. He was a past member of Honea Path Civitans and a member of Generostee ARP Church.Survivors include his wife, Connie Weeks Harris of the home; son, George 'Vic' Harris III and his wife, Alice W., of Jacksonville, FL; daughter, Diane Winstead and her husband, Roger of Westminster, SC; sisters, Herschel Taylor, Hazel Harris, Margaret Brown and Juanita Brown, all of Iva, SC; six grandchildren: Scott, Ernie and Jonathan Moore of the Saylors Crossroads Community; Jay Winstead of Westminster, SC; Manley Victor Harris of Greenwood, SC and Christopher George Harris of Charleston, SC; sister-in-law and caretaker, Shelby Weeks of the home.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Harris.The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, July 25, 2007 at 3:30 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with the Reverend Jerry Gray officiating.
