'IKEY' NIX December 28, 1926 - November 26, 2007ANDERSON, SCMr. George Calvis 'Ikey' Nix, age 80, husband of Frances Virginia Todd Nix of 511 Fairmont Road, Anderson, SC, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, November 26, 2007 at his residence.Born in Iva, SC on December 28, 1926, Mr. Nix was the son of the late Walter E. Nix and Barnette Scoggins Nix. He was a United States World War II Navy veteran and was retired from Wellington Mills. He was of the Baptist Faith. Survivors include his wife, Frances Virginia Todd Nix of the home; daughters, Linda N. Vickery and her husband, Ronald, Libby Thompson and her husband, Jimmy and Carol White and her husband, Danny all of Anderson; sister, Ruby Nell Davis of Birmingham, AL; six grandchildren, Wayne Vickery, Keith Vickery, Traci Fendley, Kenny Thompson, Jenny White and Jessica Lance; seven great-grandchildren and one great-grandchild expected January 2008 and one great-great-grandchild, expected May 2008.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Lilly Borawski and three brothers, Joseph, Thomas and J. W. Nix. The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, November 28, 2007 at 11:00 am in the Chapel of Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum with the Reverend Kyle Antone officiating. Military Honors will be provided by the Upstate Veterans Honor Guard. The family will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 27, 2007 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.The family will be at the residence.Flowers are optional.
