George Thomas Krakos, age 87, of 439 Singleton Road, passed away on Monday, January 16, 2012, at AnMed Health Medical Center.Born April 13, 1924, in Springfield, IL, he was a son of the late Andrew Peter Krakos and Margaret Farnworth Krakos. He served in the United States Navy during World War II and retired from Gilbert Commonwealth Associates as a Project Manager. Mr. Krakos was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.Survivors include his wife, Janet Lehn Krakos, of the home; children: Sherry Krakos of Lambertville, NJ, Roddy L. Krakos (wife, Pat) of Jackson, MS, Garry T. Krakos (wife, Kum Hui) of Annandale, VA, Jeffrey A. Krakos (wife, DeAnn) of Dallas, TX, and Greg T. Krakos (wife, Angie) of Anderson, SC; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren also survive. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a first wife, Alice Grossman Krakos; a brother, Lawrence Krakos; and a sister, Mary Alice Krakos.The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10am on Saturday, January 21, 2012, at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Entombment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum.
