The McDougald Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc. 2211 North Main Street Anderson, South Carolina 29621 864-224-4343 OBITUARY: ALBERT POWELL ANDERSON, SC George Albert Powell, age 91, husband of Estelle Elizabeth James Powell, passed away on Sunday, November 10, 2013 at the Rainey Hospice House. Born in Anderson, SC, on September 16, 1922, he was the son of the late George Clayton Powell and the late Reesie McCurry Powell. Mr. Powell was a graduate of Boys High, and a retired supervisor with J.P. Stevens Appleton Plant. He was a longtime member of Covenant Baptist Church and served as a Deacon. He is survived by his wife; one son, Gene Powell and his wife, Vickie of Anderson, SC; one daughter, Pat Burdette of Anderson, SC; three grandchildren, Doug Powell(Diane), Kim Howell, and Scott Burdette; great-grandchildren, Trey Howell(Crystal), Tyler Howell, Kameron Howell, Taylor Powell, Summer Powell and Sophia Powell; step-grandson, Eric Bratcher(Meka); step-great-grandson, Guy Bratcher. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers; Lewis "Bo" Powell, Seaborn Powell, J.C. Powell and Leonard Powell; sister, Sybil Hunter. The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with the Reverend Steve Silvey officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will be at the home of his grandson, Doug Powell, 103 Welborn Oaks Way, Anderson SC 29621 and will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Monday, November 11, 2013 from 6:00 Pm until 8:00 PM.
