May 5, 1932 - May 8, 2008ANDERSON, SCMr. George Willis Rider, Sr., age 76, husband of Sue Rider of 432 Morningside Drive, died Thursday, May 8, 2008 at AnMed Health Medical Center in Anderson.Born in Anderson, SC on May 5, 1932, Mr. Rider was a son of the late Floyd Young Rider, Sr., and Jessie Marie Evans Rider. He retired from Wood Insulation & Vinyl. He was a member of Grace Memorial Baptist Church where he was a very active and dedicated member and head of the visitation program.Survivors include his wife, Sue Rider of the home; daughters, Tracie Sweet and her husband, Greg, Tammi Yates Thompson and her husband, Stanley, Linda McCall and her husband, Terry and Tammy Lynn George and her husband, Milton; sons, George W. Rider, Jr., and his wife, Renee, Robert Y. Rider and Sammy H. Brown, all of Anderson; brother, Leroy Rider and his wife, Bertha of Kissimmee, FL; sisters, Selma Sullivan and her husband, Jim and Ruby Brown of Belton; thirteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He is also survived by two very special nieces, Robin Norris and Therisa Roberts. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two daughters, Phyllis Marie Vickery and Julie Jean Rider; a brother, Floyd Young Rider, Jr., and a sister, Ethel Smith.The Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, May 11, 2008 at 3:00 pm at Grace Memorial Baptist Church officiated by the Reverends Sam Chastain, Mark Dickson and Billy Ray Whitfield.
