George Austin Sullivan, age 85, of 2006 Linda Drive, passed away Sunday, February 21, 2021, at AnMed Health Medical Center. Born in Anderson, SC, he was the son of the late Walla Ghee Sullivan and Ila Balance Glenn Sullivan. He was married for 65 years to Betty Dove Sullivan until her death last month. George retired from Owens Corning Fiberglass after 39 years of service to the company. He enjoyed flying and was close to getting his pilot's license. In his younger days, he spent a lot of time water skiing and he also enjoyed riding his motorcycles for many years. He is survived by his children, Dwaine Sullivan, Debbie Campbell, and Keith Sullivan; brother, Donnie Sullivan; grandchildren, Jessica Campbell, Krystle Bannister (Robert), and Brian Sullivan (Trishtina); great-grandchildren, Tyler, Kalee (Chandler), Austin, Caleb, Grayson, Ashlyn, Lucas, Layla, and Alanna; and great-great grandchildren, Kayden, Kimora, Karter, and Kourtlyn. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Jack Sullivan and Jimmy Sullivan, Sr.; and granddaughter, Dana Ashworth. The family will receive friends Friday, February 26, 2021, from 12:30-1:30 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm in the Chapel with Pastor Robbie Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Social distancing will be observed and masks required. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Centerville Baptist Church, 1705 Gerrard Rd., Anderson, SC 29625. The family will be at the home.
