Georgena Rose "Jo" Metcalf Smith, age 94, of Starr, SC, passed away Thursday, November 18, 2021, at her home. Born September 18, 1927, in Bellaire, OH, she was the daughter of the late Joe Metcalf and Lilly Judge Metcalf. She was married to Ralph Wilson Smith for 61 years until his death in March 2011. Jo was a retired school secretary and moved to Anderson in 1993. She enjoyed living on Lake Hartwell and the time spent with her neighbors in their morning coffee club meetings. She was a member of Ruhamah United Methodist Church. She is survived by her son, Jeffrey Wilson Smith; daughters, Pamela Lynn Johnson (Dennis) and Deborah Ann Cole; and grandchildren, Oakly Wilson Smith, Curtis Wilson Johnson, and Jordan Jerome Cole; step granddaughter, Willow Rose Miller; and step great grandchildren, Tye Richard, Madison Rose, and William Chase Jackson. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters. A private family graveside service will be held at Ruhamah United Methodist Church.
