MRS. GEORGIA TAYLOR ROBERSON April 20, 1924 - November 15, 2012 ANDERSON, SC Mrs. Georgia Taylor Roberson, age 88, of Anderson, widow of Marshall Hoke Roberson, died on November 15, 2012, at the Rainey Hospice House. Mrs. Roberson, the daughter of the late George Felton Taylor and Lillie McCuen Taylor was a native of Greenville County and was a member of First Baptist Church, Anderson. She graduated in 1945 from Winthrop College, now Winthrop University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Home Economics and in 1958 with a Master's Degree from the University of Maryland. Mrs. Roberson was retired from the Clemson University Cooperative Extension Service in 1979 after 34 years of service. During this time she served as County Home Demonstration Agent, State Girls 4-H Agent and retired as State 4-H Youth Development Coordinator and Associate Professor Emeritus of Home Economics. She was a member of the Association of Retired Clemson Extension Employees and Epsilon Sigma Phi, National Honorary Fraternity of Extension Professionals. Mrs. Roberson received an Honorary Doctor of Humane Letters Degree from North Greenville University in December 2005. In 2003, her donations to North Greenville University funded Roberson Residence Hall given in memory of her late husband, Marshall Hoke Roberson. Mrs. Roberson was co-owner with her husband of American Sentry Burglar and Fire Alarm Company and Anderson Answering, now Blue Ridge Security. She is survived by one sister, Myrtice Taylor Boazman of Chappells, SC; long time caregiver, Mrs. Ruby W. Walker and a host of friends. The Funeral service will be held in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home on Sunday, November 18, 2012, at 2:00 pm, with Reverend Jerry Hayes officiating. Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will be at the residence. Memorials may be made to The Marshall H. and Georgia T.
