Georgia Anna Wiles Ware, age 88, of Easley, SC, passed away Monday, April 26, 2021, at McCall Hospice House surrounded by her loving family. Born February 15, 1933 in Iva, SC, she was the daughter of the late James H. Wiles and Mary Hayes Wiles. She was married to the late Belvin Maynard Ware, Sr. for sixty years. Georgia was a graduate of Calhoun Falls High School where she was a cheerleader and member of the basketball team. In 1951 and 1952, she won the Southern Textile Basketball Tournament All-Star award. She also excelled academically, receiving a full scholarship at Winthrop College. Georgia was the 1953 Miss Calhoun Falls, and competed in the Miss South Carolina pageant later that same year. She was formerly the office manager at NAPA in Easley, SC. She was a member of St. Andrew United Methodist Church in Easley, SC. She is survived by her son, Matt Ware of Easley, SC; daughters Susan Ware-Snow (Murray) and Linda Ware Day, both of Easley, SC; sister Etruelia Wiles Kimsey of Abbeville, SC; grandchildren Ashbie Anna Day, and Krista Savannah Day (William Smith) both of Easley, SC; son-in-law Tony Day of Easley, SC; and life long friend, Velma Schumpert of Ware Shoals, SC. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Doris Wiles Moss, Samuel Eugene Wiles, Mary Ruth Wiles Rice, and James Hubert Wiles. The family will host a visitation and memorial service on Saturday, May 8, 2021 at St. Andrew United Methodist Church in Easley with visitation from 11:00 am- 12:00 pm and the service beginning at 12:15 pm with Rev. Murray Snow and Rev. Jeff Childress officiating. The committal service will be at 3:00 pm at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Abbeville, SC. Flowers will be accepted and memorial contributions may be made to St. Andrew United Methodist Church, 309 Pelzer Hwy, Easley, SC 29642 or McCall Hospice House, 1836 W. Georgia Rd., Simpsonville, SC 29680.
