Gerald Thomas Bannister, age 86, of Starr, SC, husband of the late Derrell Smith Bannister, passed away Wednesday, March, 9, 2022 at his home. Born July 8, 1935, in Iva, SC, he was the son of the late Johnnie J. Bannister and Esther Dickerson Bannister. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and was retired from Owens Corning Fiberglass. Surviving Mr. Bannister are his daughter, Janice White and her husband, Mike of Belton, SC; granddaughters, Katrina White of Belton, SC, and Jennifer Nicole Ulrich of Pelzer, SC; great granddaughters, Danielle Lollis and Anna Jean Ulrich of Pelzer, SC; and sister, Linda Black of Starr, SC. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Derrell Smith Bannister; brother, Ansley Bannister; and infant sister, Francis Pearl Bannister. The family would like to thank the staff at PruittHealth Hospice for the care provided to Mr. Bannister. The funeral service will be held Saturday, March 12, 2022, at 11:00 am at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel with Rev. Mike Harrell officiating.
