JERRY GILLESPIE September 11,1936 - September 8, 2008ANDERSON, SCMr. Gerald David 'Jerry' Gillespie, age 71, husband of Janice Wright Gillespie of 212 Bedford Forest Avenue, passed away on Monday, September 8, 2008 at his residence.Born in Anderson, SC on September 11, 1936, Mr. Gillespie was a son of the late D. D. Gillespie and the late Bertha Curtis Gillespie. He was a 1958 graduate of Clemson University and was a member of the Senior Platoon. He was a Quality Control Manager with the Singer Corporation for 15 years and retired from Maremont Corporation, Gabriel Shock Absorbers in Tennessee. He returned to Anderson where he worked for Sam's Club at their Membership Desk. Mr. Gillespie was an avid fisherman. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Anderson and had served as a Deacon.In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons, Michael D. Gillespie and his wife, Myra of Anderson, SC, Gregory Neal Gillespie of Franklin, TN and Douglas Clark Gillespie of Seneca, SC; brothers, Curtis Gillespie of Anderson, SC and brother-in-law Randy Wright of Pawley's Island, SC. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Erin M. Gillespie, Taylor Doyle Gillespie and Davis Reed Gillespie.The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, September 11, 2008 at 2:00pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home officiated by the Reverend Glenn Bolt. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from Noon until 1:30pm. The family will be at the residence.
