He was a 1966 graduate of Crescent High School and earned an Associates Degree from Tri-County Technical College. He served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. During his military service, he received the Presidential Seal as part of the Presidential Escort Team. He retired from Michelin Tire Corporation with 30 years of service. He was a Mason, a member of the V. F. W and Mountain Creek Baptist Church. In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons, Gregory Thomas Trotter and his wife, Angie of Raleigh, NC, Bradley Michael Trotter of Anderson, SC and Jay Scott Trotter of Marine Corps Air Station in Beaufort, SC; sisters, Mary Ellis of Anderson, Elaine Simpson of Belton and Lynn Roper of Anderson. He was predeceased by a brother, Tony Michael Trotter.A Graveside Service will be held Friday, May 27, 2011 at 2:00 pm at M. J.
