On September 9, 2023, Geraldyn Holden gained her wings and departed this life at 12:54am. She was 74 years old, though she had some issues with her health, she was still a vibrant and funny person up until her death. Geraldyn, loved God, family, watching sports and westerns and had a love of food like no other. As a mother of 3, and stepmother of 2, Geraldyn was a maternal figure to many. Any child that crossed the seal of her door was considered family. She always provided support, love, and great food to her family. As a valedictorian graduate of Westside High School, Geraldyn was also awarded the title of homecoming queen. After high school, she went to work in the Manufacturing industry where she remained until she retired. She loved to shop and spend time with family. Geraldyn was preceded in death by her parents the late Willie Lee (dad), and Lola Mae Walker Lee (mom), siblings Sylvester Lee (brother), Billy Lee (brother) and Doris Lee-Morris (sister). She is survived by her husband of 54 years Bobby Holden, Corey Holden (son), Germaine Holden (son), Courtney Holden (daughter), Anthony Terry (step-son), Michelle Terry-Simmons (step-daughter), 15 grand-children, a host of great-grandchildren, Anne Lee-Walker (sister) and Clark Lee (brother). The family will have a walk-through wake on Friday, September 15, 2023, from 6:00-8:00 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. The memorial service will be held Saturday, September 16, 2023, at 1:00 pm at King David Baptist Church.
