GILBERT WASHBURN December 1, 1934 - August 29, 2013 ANDERSON, SC Gilbert Dale Washburn, age 78, of Anderson, passed away on Thursday, August 29, 2013 at AnMed Health Medical Center. Born in Friendship, NY, he was the son of the late Gilbert Washburn and the late Betty Stanton Washburn. He proudly served his country in the United States Army, where he retired. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Washburn, of the home; two sons, Mark A. Washburn, of Anderson, and Brian Keith Washburn, of Annapolis, MD; a step-son, William H. Baker, of Colorado Springs, CO; a brother, Rodney Washburn and his wife Shirley of Warminster, PA. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a step-son, Charles L. Baker. The Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at 10:00 AM at M.J. Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery with Reverend Dr. Tony Smith officiating. The family will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 3, 2013 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
