Gladys Marie Walters Haynes age 89 of 2205 Whitehall Road, wife of the late Hoyt Haynes died, Saturday, August 30, 2008 at the Rainey Hospice House in Anderson. Born in Anderson, on June 29, 1919, Mrs. Haynes was a daughter of the late Joseph B. Walters and Mary Elizabeth Merrett Walters. She retired from Abney Mills and was a homemaker.She is survived by her son Kenneth Marion Haynes, her daughter-in-law, Gail Blackburn Haynes, and her sister Willie Walters Burdette, all of Anderson. A granddaughter Heather Marie Haynes Kershner of Charlotte and a great-granddaughter Kendall Marie Kershner also survive her. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 10 siblings. The funeral service will be held on Monday, September 1, 2008 at 11:00 am in the chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home. The Rev. Ray Buchanan will officiate. Interment will follow in New Silver Brook Cemetery.
