Gladys Esther Shore Lowery, 85, loving wife of Ray F. Lowery, passed away on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at Rainey Hospice House. Born in Anderson, SC, on May 18, 1932, Gladys was the daughter and only child of the late George Shore and Carine Skelton Shore. She worked as a secretary for Liberty Life Insurance. She was a dedicated member of Temple Baptist Church where she was part of the Ladies Bible Study Class. In addition to her husband Ray, Gladys is survived by her sons, Barry Lowery (Robin) of Richmond, VA, Boyce Lowery (Diana) of Salt Lake City, UT, and Dale Lowery (Lisa) of Landrum, SC; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and special cousins who provided much care, Linda Nichols of Anderson,SC, and Jeremy Robinson. The family will receive friends at Temple Baptist Church on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 from 12:00 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. The funeral service will follow in the church at 2:00 p.m. with Dr. Steve Hurte and Rev. Claude Dykes officiating. Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Temple Baptist Church, 2905 Standridge Rd., Anderson, SC 29625.
