Gladys Hughes Mize age 87, wife of the late Howard Benjamin 'Wendy' Mize, formerly of Anderson, passed away on Saturday December 13, 2008 at the Randolph Health and Rehabilitation Center in Asheboro, NC. Born in Belton, SC on February 25, 1921 she was a daughter of the late Thomas Oscar Hughes and Mary Ann Wilson Hughes. Mrs. Mize worked for several years with the Essex Manufacturing Company and the Anderson Hospital. She was a member of Taylor Memorial Pentecostal Holiness Church and attended the Tallyho Baptist Church in Stem, NC. Survivors include her daughter, Everlee Lancaster and husband Dwight, of Asheboro, NC; and Judy Thomas and husband Bob of California; five grandchildren; one step grandchildren and several great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by three brothers and three sisters. The Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, December 14,2008 at 3:00 PM in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with the Reverend Randy Hall. Interment will follow in the Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, December14, 2008, from 1:30 to 2:30 pm.
