Gladys Chadwick Orvin, age 93, of Anderson, SC, loving wife to the late Rev. Hubert P. Orvin, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, December 9, 2022. Born May 7, 1929, in Donalds, SC, she was the daughter of the late Luther B. Chadwick and Ola Bell Jeanes Chadwick. Gladys spent over 60 years as a devoted pastor's wife and mentor to countless people. She was always by her husband's side as he ministered to their congregations. Her daughters were her absolute pride and joy. She took much enjoyment cooking for their families and anything that involved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom she loved dearly. She was a member of Simpsonville Church of God. She is survived by her daughters, Daisy Owens (Jay), and Yvonne Schmidt (Bill); brother, Mancel Chadwick (Jeanette); grandchildren, Kevin Owens (Cindy), Brian Owens (Kelly), and Brett Schmidt; great-grandchildren, Kelsey ONeil (Trevor), Lauren Hall (Elijah), and Peyton, Garrett, Belle, Ashton, Tyler, Hayden, and Lexi Owens; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins that treasured her dearly. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Perry Orvin; brothers, L.B. "Doc" Chadwick, and Furman Gene Chadwick; and sisters, Lou Worley, Anna Miller, and Willie Bell Chadwick. The family will receive friends Saturday, December 17, 2022, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow in the Chapel at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Delton Hand and Rev. Norman Black officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Those serving as pallbearers will be Kevin and Brian Owens, Brett Schmidt, Ashton and Garrett Owens, and Randy Miller. The family will be at their respective homes.
