SIMPSON ANDERSON, SC Gladys Madden Simpson, age 94, wife of the late Woodrow A. Simpson died suddenly October 23, 2013 at AnMed Medical Health Center. Born on October 12, 1919, she was a daughter of the late Wesley Evans Madden and Mary Benjamin Madden. She was a member of The First Baptist Church in Anderson and a member of the Blanche Holcombe Sunday School Class. Survivors include a son, Woodrow Allen Simpson Jr. (Beth) of Myrtle Beach, SC; two daughters, Charlotte Carter (the late Dr. Randolph Carter) of Amelia Island, FL and Ann S. Burnett (Ron) of Sumter, SC. She had six grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Sadie M. Portoghese of Anderson and two brothers; Ellis E. Madden of Anderson, and Wilton R. Madden of Santa Barbara, CA. The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, October, 28, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
