SKELTON March 21, 1932 - July 23, 2009WILLIAMSTON, SCGladys Louise Wade Skelton, age 77, wife of Francis Edrew 'Red' Skelton of 4 Mahaffey Road, died Thursday, July 23, 2009 at the Rainey Hospice House.Born in Pickens, SC on March 21, 1932, Mrs. Skelton was a daughter of the late Judge Welborn Wade and Mary Craine Wade McJunkin. She was a 1951 Valedictorian graduate of Liberty High School and was a former employee of York Manufacturing Company. She was a member of Williamston Church of God, where she was treasurer for the Sanctuary Sunday School class, pianist and a member of the church choir.Survivors include her husband of the home; sons, JR Skelton, and his wife, Betsy, of Fairborn, OH and Boyce Skelton of Williamston; daughter, Carol Wilkins and her husband Marcus of Fort Valley, GA; half-brother, Edgar 'Eddie' McJunkin, Jr., of Williamston and sister, Queen Cothran of Belton; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Lillian Curtis and a brother, Alvin Wade.The Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, July 26, 2009 at 2:00 pm at Williamston Church of God officiated by Reverends Michael Hanley, Al Kassiah and Andrew Baxley. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the McDougald Funeral Home on Saturday, July 25, 2009 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Mrs. Skelton will be placed in the church at 1:00 pm on Sunday.The family will be at the residence.
