Glenn Ray Locke, age 79, of Belton, SC, husband of Barbara Campbell Locke passed away at his home on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, after an extended and courageous battle with cancer.

Born on July 16, 1947, Glenn was the son of the late Joe Parson Locke and Racene Smith Locke. He graduated from Belton-Honea Path High School and Anderson University. He was a long-standing member of First Baptist Church of Belton and a dedicated military serviceman.

Glenn retired from the SC National Guard in 2007 with the rank of Chief Warrant Officer Five after 41 years of military service. Among his military achievements, he became a Master Army Aviator who was a recipient of the Legion of Merit, the Distinguished Flying Cross, and many other meritorious awards and medals. He was inducted into the South Carolina National Guard Warrant Officer Hall of Fame in 2009. Having been a helicopter pilot for 23 years, he completed his last 18 years of military service with the 263rd Army Air Missile Defense Command. He was called upon and honored to serve a year in Washington, DC, in support of Operation Noble Eagle after the September 11, 2001 crisis. He was thankful that God provided him the mental and physical health to achieve his childhood dream of becoming a military pilot and career member of our country's armed forces. He also served his community by volunteering for Meals on Wheels and the Belton Police Department.

Glenn always felt blessed to be born in the USA, to be raised by a Christian family, and to be married to a loving wife of 54 years. He was a humble man of great integrity. Glenn was most appreciative of others' kindnesses and friendship and loved sharing a joke with family and friends. He enjoyed living in the country on his grandfather's family land. When he was in good health, Glenn enjoyed traveling, scuba diving, and target shooting.

Surviving in addition to his wife is his sister, Janet Locke Ladd (Walter); and many other loving family members including his beloved nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by Joe Gerald Locke, his brother; and Mozelle Locke Craft, his sister.

The family will receive friends on Friday, September 4, 2026, from 10:00-10:45 a.m. in the Family Room of First Baptist Church of Belton. A celebration service conducted by Rev. Nick Kirby and Rev. Matt Wurst will follow at 11:00 a.m. A private military burial at M.J. "Dolly" Cooper Veterans Cemetery will be held at a later date.
