Gloria Lee Conyers Mimms, age 91, passed away on November 15, 2016 at AnMed Health Medical Center. Born in Danville, VA, on October 30, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Cecil Rupert Conyers and the late Sarah McDaniel Conyers. She was a graduate of Peace College in Raleigh, NC, and did clerical work until her children were born. She then became a dedicated stay-at-home mother. After her children became older, she worked as a secretary at Vanguard Industries, until she retired. She was a faithful member of Welcome Baptist Church for more than 50 years. She is survived by her children, Bill Mimms and his wife Shari, of Spartanburg, SC, Cindy Herbert and her husband Joey, of Pendleton, SC, and Beverly George and her husband Harry, of Fountain Inn, SC; a brother, Rupert Conyers, Jr. "Bo" and his wife Mary, of Knightdale, NC; a sister, Betty Anne Wagstaff and her husband Fred of Fuquay-Varina, NC; and five grandchildren, Claire George-Drumheller (Matt), Sarah Herbert, Anna George Traynham (Blake), Nate Mimms, Kelly Zook (Spencer). In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, William Earl Mimms, Jr. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, November 19, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at Welcome Baptist Church with William R. West, Jr. and Hugh Burgess officiating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.
