Gordon Matthew Provan, age 61, of Iva, SC, passed away Tuesday, August 24, 2021, at AnMed Health Medical Center. Born October 19, 1959, in Lakeland, FL, he was a son of the late Henry Matthew Provan and Dorothy Howard Provan. Gordon was a veteran of the United States Navy and formerly worked at Jackson Mill. He loved his family very much and loved his grandsons dearly. Gordon also loved the people of his community and socializing with them. He will be dearly missed by all who loved him. He is survived by his daughter, Cynthia Burris; grandchildren, Alex, Elijah, and Johnathan; great grandchildren, Nevaeh, Ty, and Carter; and brothers, Frank Provan and his wife, Laura and Freddie Provan and his wife, Sandra. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, September 1, 2021, at 11:00 am at Iva City Cemetery with Rev. Charlie Howell officiating.
