GOVIA RAYMOND BROCK May 31, 1941 - July 13, 2012 Mr. Raymond "Candy Man" Brock, age 71, of 114 Ashley Avenue, died July 13, 2012 at AnMed Health Care Center. He was the widow of Betty Joe Day Brock. Born in Anderson, Mr. Brock was a son of the late J. C. Brock, Sr. and the late Maggie Richey Brock. He retired as a chef with 25 years of service from Pete's #5 and was a member of Riverside Baptist Church. In addition to his love of cooking, he also had a passion for yard sales; always looking for a deal. He is survived by a daughter Sonja Hurt and her husband Tony of Anderson; step-daughter, Debra Gaines of Anderson; sisters, Mildred Elizabeth Barnes of Anderson, Dorothy Annette Davis of Williamston and Shelby Jean Wilson of Anderson; brothers, James Ray Brock and his wife, Alexis and John Clay Brock, all of Anderson; grandchildren, Jamie Kelley, Stacey Kelley, Krystal Lecroy, April Hurt, T.J. Hurt, Kimber Kelley and Ricky Gaines; and 17 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents and beloved wife, he was predeceased by stepson, James Richard Kelley, brothers, J.C. Brock, Edward L. Brock, Wilton R. Brock; sisters, Ellen Hutson, Virginia Brock, and Grace Burdette. Funeral services will be held at 3 PM on Monday, July 16, 2012 at the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home officiated by the Reverend Wayne Adams. Interment will follow at New Silver Brook Cemetery. The family will be at their respective homes and will receive friends Monday, July 16, 2012 from 1 PM until 2:30 PM at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Anderson Free Clinic, 414 N.
