OBITUARYANDERSON, SCGRACE BOWENJune 6, 1930 - May 14, 2009Grace Forrester Bowen, age 78, wife of Marvin Bowen, died Thursday, May 14, 2009 at AnMed Health Medical Center.Born in Anderson, she was a daughter of the late Herschel Early Forrester and Lillie Ann Welborn Forrester. She was a 1947 graduate of Anderson Girl's High School. She was a homemaker and also worked for several years at the Anderson County Probate office. Mrs. Bowen attended Taylor Memorial Pentecostal Holiness Church.Survivors include her husband Marvin Bowen of the home; daughters, Donna Compton and her husband Buddy of Anderson, Anne Allred and her husband Cecil of Piedmont, Anita Hitt and Marie Taylor and her husband John, all of Anderson; nine loving grandchildren; one loving great-grandchild; brother, Boyce Forrester of Decatur, GA; sister, Robbie Crawford of Anderson.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Becky Hamby; brother, Paul Forrester; sisters, Hazel McCullough, Ruth James and Gertrude Hardy.The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2009 at 3:00pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home officiated by the Reverend L. Brent Lollis and Mr. Harry Osborne. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 6-8 pm.The family will be at the residence.Flowers are optional.
