GRACE LEE TIMMS February 4, 1917 - December 10, 2012 Grace Lee Timms, age 95, of 1501 East Greenville Street, Anderson, died at her residence at National Health Care on Monday, December 10, 2012. Born in Banks County, GA, she was the daughter of the late James Benjamin York and the late Pauline Elizabeth Mullinax York. Mrs. Timms was retired as a waitress at Burger King. Prior to that, she was a spinner at Equinox Mill. She was a member of Orville Baptist Church. Survivors include a sister, Ella Smith of Anderson, and a niece, Elizabeth Byrum of Anderson. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Timms was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Timms; 3 brothers, James, John, and Paul York; 5 sisters, Mae Elizabeth Orr, Pearl Busbin, Stella York, Louise Wiles, and Ruby Dickert. A graveside service will be held on Friday, December 14, 2012 at 1:30 pm at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens, with Rev. Dr. Wendell Bannister and Rev. Thad Elliott officiating. The family will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 12, 2012 from 6 PM until 8 PM.
