Gregory J. Humphries Anderson, SC Gregory J. Humphries, age 76, husband of Didi Campbell Humphries, passed away on Wednesday, April 29, 2015, at the Rainey Hospice House. Born in Columbia, LA, on January 24, 1939, he was the son of the late James Leroy Humphries and the late Lozelle Gregory Rozema, and her husband, Harold J. Rozema. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1957 until 1961. For most of his career Greg worked for Cincinnati Milacron in the Valenite Division in Detroit, MI and South Carolina and retired as their general manager in 1998. For three years following he served as vice president of Teledyne-Firth Sterling in Nashville, TN. In September of 2007 he became a Reserve Officer with the City of Anderson Police Department. He was an avid classic car enthusiast, pilot, golfer, and enjoyed raising horses. He was a member of North Anderson Baptist Church. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Gregory P. Humphries and Laura Humphries Ryan and her husband Stephen; step-children, Allison Hardy Owens and her husband Stacey and Emily Hardy Schneider and her husband Damon; a sister, Sue Soberon; ten grandchildren, Nicholas Humphries and his wife Heidi, Maggie Sansoterra and her husband, James, Casidy Hardy, Collin Owens, Cailey Owens, Ava Schneider, Dawson Schneider, Devan Ryan, Layne Ryan, and Slade Ryan; and four great-grandchildren, John, Molly, Catherine, and Sophia. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. at High Praises Church, with Reverend Bill Rigsby, Reverend George Stephens, Reverend Chris Sustar, and Reverend Cecil Campbell. Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum with Military and Policeman Honors. The family will be at the residence and will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Friday, May 1, 2015, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Flowers are optional or memorials may be made to Hospice of The Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC 29621.
