JONES January 16, 1918 - September 30, 2005IVA, SCMr. Guy William Jones, age 87, of Iva, SC, died Friday, September 30, 2005 at the AnMed Health Medical Center in Anderson, SC.Born in Greenville, SC on January 16, 1918, Mr. Jones was a son of the late Guy William Jones, Sr., and Gertrude Smith Jones and a graduate of Clemson University. He was a former agriculture teacher and FFA Advisor for Anderson School District No. 3 and retired as Principal of Starr-Iva Middle School. He had devoted forty years of service to public education. Mr. Jones was a member of the First Baptist Church of Iva and was a United States Army Veteran having served in World War II.He is the beloved husband of the late Helen Carolyn Bolding Jones and the loving father of daughter, Marilyn Jones Clardy and her husband, George Clardy of Easley, SC; and son, Glenn William Jones and his wife, Kathie Oglesby Jones of Anderson; a brother, Jess Willard Jones of Clemson; three grandchildren, Laura, Casey and Abbie also survive.Funeral services will be held Sunday, October 2, 2005 at 4:00 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home officiated by the Reverend Jerry Gray. Interment will follow in South Lawn Memorial Gardens.The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 2:30 to 3:30 pmThe family will be at their respective homes.Flowers are optional.
