Mr. McKee was born September 17, 1926 near Iva, SC. The son of the late Dean & Verna McCullough McKee, he was a WWII Army Veteran and served in the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict. Mr. McKee retired from the Engineering Department of Kroger Bakery after 35 years of service. He was a member of North Anderson Baptist Church. Mr. McKee was a Genealogist and Historian and was member of the American Legion Post #14, the Anderson County Historical Society, the Palmetto Sharpshooters Camp #1428, the Air Force SGTS Association and the Sampson Air Force Veterans Association.He was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Gordon McKee, brothers Dalton and Norman and sister, Irene McKee. He is survived by son Dennis H. McKee and his wife, Brenda Yates McKee of Anderson and daughter Connie M. Willingham of Columbia; grandchildren Brian, Jeffrey (Rayetta), Joel (Krystal) and Hal McKee of Anderson, Wendy and Tommy Willingham and Kelly W. Hamilton (Woody) of Columbia; great-grandchildren, Katie, Kimberly, and Daniel McKee ,and Heather M. Loudin (Mason) all of Anderson, and Troy and Nate Hamilton of Columbia, and great-great grandchildren, Christian and Kyrie Loudin of Anderson. He is also survived by sisters Joyce (Billy) Connally of Mauldin and Amelia Hall of AndersonThe Funeral Service will be conducted by the Rev. Bill Rigsby and Rev. T.W. McGuffin, Saturday, January 29, 2pm at The McDougald Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the New Silverbrook Cemetery with Military Honors by the Upstate Veterans Honor Guard. The family will be at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Dennis H. McKee, 606 Jackson Square in Anderson and will receive friends Friday, January 28, 6-8pm at funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to North Anderson Baptist Church Building Fund, 2308 N.
