Harliss Harmon Ramey, age 84, of Anderson, SC, passed away Tuesday, January 25, 2022, at his home after a 5 year battle with cancer. Born July 25, 1937, in Wise County, VA, he was the son of the late James Earl Ramey and Edna Earl Sluss Ramey. Harliss spent his career as a machinist working for both Eaton Corporation and Graham-White Manufacturing Co. His hobbies included woodworking and fishing and he enjoyed his last years living on Lake Hartwell. He is survived by his loving and dedicated wife of 64 years, Betty June Blevins Ramey; son, Michael Lee Ramey (Michelle); daughter, Sharon Ramey Wilson (Chris); brother, James Earl "Jim" Ramey, Jr.; and grandchildren, Savannah Wilson, and Ryan Ramey. A private family memorial service will be held on Lake Hartwell in the summer. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Rd., Anderson, SC 29621.
