Burdette, passed away on Friday, November 23, 2012 at AnMed Medical Health Center. Born in Abbeville County, he was the son of the late Samuel Jackson Burdette and the late Ola Gilreath Burdette. He was a textile worker, having worked for Abney Mills, Riverside Plant, and Torrington Plant. Mr. Burdette was retired from the Army National Guard as a Staff Sgt. He was a member of the South Greenwood Pentecostal Holiness Church. He is survived by his wife, two sons; Harold Thomas Burdette and his fiance, Brenda M. Gaston of Ft. Lawn, SC, Tim Burdette and his wife, Carmen of Anderson, SC; daughter, Beth Bailey and her husband Rev. Terry Bailey of Greenwood, SC; six grandchildren, Tonya Burdette, Kelly Burdette, Timothy Burdette (Courtney), Kaitlin Burdette, Samantha Burdette, and Mikkaela Bailey; three great-grandchildren, Koby Phillips, Kiley Burdette, James Timothy Burdette, III. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, James Thomas Bailey; brothers, Sam, Willie, Leo, Theo, and Henry Burdette; sister, Zoah Ayers. The Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, November 25, 2012 at 3:00 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home, with the Reverend Terry Bailey and Reverend John Woodson officiating. Interment will follow in Gardens of Memories in Belton, SC. Serving as Honorary Escort will be the National Guard Retirees. The family will be at the home and will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Sunday, November 25, 2012 from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm before the service.
