Harold Carl Smith, age 85, of Belton, SC, passed away on Monday, March 24, 2025, at Rainey Hospice House.

Born May 31, 1939, in Townville, SC, he was the son of the late Paul Henry Smith and Mozelle Patterson Smith. He was married for 63 years to Bobbie Jean Jordan Smith until her death in 2021. He was also preceded in death by a son, Richard Carl Smith.

Carl formerly worked in the Engineering Department at AnMed Heath Medical Center and served in the National Guard for 9 years. He was a member of Eastview Baptist Church. He loved the Lord, his family, and his friends. He enjoyed being outdoors, cutting his grass, and driving around town in the street rod he built with his son. He will be missed beyond measure by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his son, Ronald L. Smith (Ann); grandchildren, Tiffany Brooke Fields, Justin Richard Smith, Kristi Leigh Smith, and Ryne Cooley (Laura); great grandchildren, Coby Mitchell, Braylee Mitchell, Blayne Mitchell, Bryce Teague, Wilder Harris, Parker Cooley, Emerson Cooley, and Savanna Milford; and one great-great grandchild.

The family will receive friends on Friday, March 28, 2025, from 12:00-12:45 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 1:00 pm in the Chapel with Rev. Randy Blank officiating. Burial will follow at Garden of Memories.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Rd., Anderson, SC 29621.

The family would like to especially thank Cathy Bannister and Becky Milford for the special care given to Mr. Smith.

The family will be at the home of his son, Ron.
