HAROLD S. CLINKSCALES, JR. "CLINKY" March 15, 1954 - September 13, 2012 STARR, SC Harold Sebastian Clinkscales, Jr., age 58, of Starr, passed away on September 13, 2012. Born in Anderson County, he was the son of Joanne Smith Clinkscales of Starr, SC, and the late Harold Sebastian Clinkscales, Sr. He grew up in Starr, SC, and was a 1972 graduate of Crescent High School. He attended Anderson College and Clemson University. Harold was a loving family man, a faithful employee and was passionate about the family farm. As a young man, he was very active in the Crescent FFA, winning many state awards and was the State FFA treasurer. He remained active in the State FFA and was a big supporter of the Crescent High School FFA. He was a fourth generation farmer on the Triple C Farm that was established in 1835. He was proud of the family farm, where they raised cattle, hogs and various kinds of row crops. In 1973 he and his father were recipients of the highest degree awarded at the National FFA Convention. In 1984 he and his wife, Rita, received the Young Couple's Farm Award for South Carolina. In 2011, Harold was inducted into the Clemson Master Cattleman's Association. Harold was also an employee of UPS for over 34 years where he received many awards. He was a member of the Gethsemane Baptist Temple, where he served as a Deacon, Usher and a teacher to the Basic Training Children's Class. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Rita Taylor Clinkscales of the home; two daughters, Candice Stewart and her husband Adam of Simpsonville and Alexandra "Alexis" Clinkscales of the home; a very special grandson, Logan Stewart of Simpsonville; four sisters, Barbara Jean Aboualy of Piedmont, Rosalyn Price of Iva, Suzanne Hendrix of Starr and Angela Moore of Hartwell, GA; a brother, Brian Clinkscales of Iva; and many nieces and nephews. The Funeral service will be held on Sunday, September 16, 2012, at 3:00 pm at Gethsemane Baptist Temple, with Reverend Sam Duncan and Reverend Tony Walker officiating. Interment will follow at Starr Baptist Church Cemetery. Mr. Clinkscales will be placed in the church at 2:00 pm on Sunday. The family is at the home of his mother, 2414 Smith McGee Road, and will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Saturday, September 15, 2012, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Flowers are optional, or memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
